Susan Gabel, Ph.D.

Susan Gabel, Ph.D’s work in special education (she is currently a associate professor at National-Louis University, Chicago) and her experience as an adoptive parent prepared her well to write two quite different children’s books for Perspectives Press. Filling
in the Blanks: A Guided Look at Growing Up Adopted is a carefully designed
workbook designed to be used by middle school and junior high aged adoptees with
a parent or helping professional. The now out-of-print Where the Sun Kisses
the Sea, was a picture book sharing a story similar to her son Ben’s travel
