In doing so he shares his experienced view of where adoption has been, where it is now, and where it should be going. Never one to hold back his opinion, in this 32 page booklet expanding on the closing speech at the 1995 Adoptive Families of America annual conference in Dallas (which received a standing ovation), Dr. Kirk clarifies his research and takes to task those he believes to have misinterpreted it to forward their own purposes at the expense of grounded adoptive family life.
